This week's rec is another memoir (ish) - Being Seen: One Deafblind woman's fight to end ableism by Elsa Sjunneson. Doesn't always explicitly recognise when statements are more about the USA than not, but there is some recognition of such, which is better than some books I've read that are 'and this is the way it is' that I find alienating.
content warnings: this is a book about ableism; there is a lot of that. Also, death of a parent, the effect of HIV/AIDS on the American queer community.
