Welcome to Queerly Beloved!

Queerly Beloved is, at its heart, a place to celebrate and support everyone that Tumblr exclusionists think don't count as queer/LGBTQIAP+, as well as queer folks with intersectional identities that are often overlooked or erased. Aromantic, Asexual, and Intersex people of all stripes are welcome in this community (yes, this includes demi-romantic/demi-sexual, and gray-romantic/gray-ace people). This also includes Nonbinary and Genderqueer people of all genders, as is anyone who could conceivably have a romantic and/or sexual relationship with a straight person.

Community Rules

1) No TERFs, SWERFs, Nazis, aphobes, exclusionists, ablists, racists, classists, truscum, transmedicalists, or any other bigots. Relatedly, no repeating their talking points; you can reference them if your post or comment is about tearing down or facing down said bigotry, but otherwise I want to keep things more-or-less positive here.

2) Respect your fellow community members and visitors. Act in good faith, and assume good faith on their part. This means, among other things, no "gotcha" questions designed to trick people. This also means that, when calling out negative behavior, give the person a chance to own their mistake and apologize. Doubling down on their action will be counted as a rule violation, rather than honest mistakes. That said, if a person has shown a long history of repeated honest mistakes, they may be asked to do some more self-improvement before continuing to participate in the community.

3) The word "queer" is welcome here (as I hope should be obvious from the community name). You don't have to use it for yourself, but you are not to shame anyone else for using it. While it has been used as a slur in the past, many members of the LGBTQIAP+ community have reclaimed and embraced it.

4) If you have a personal issue with another community member, try first to see if you can solve it between yourselves, off the community. Private messages are a good tool for this. If you are unable to solve the issue yourselves, then you may bring it to a moderator, who can try and help the two of you find a solution or, if that fails, set reasonable boundaries.

5) When posting images, either include an image description or note somewhere in the beginning of the post that a description is unavailable; a mod or other volunteer will then be able to provide one for you. Likewise, when posting audio material, try to include a transcript or to note whether a transcript or captions are available, so volunteers or mods can attempt to provide one. Along those lines, please avoid using custom fonts and font colors whenever possible; they can sometimes override a user's style, which they may need to be able to read posts in the first place.

6) Any material that includes one of the major triggers or any -isms or -phobias related to the identities of folks this community is meant to support needs to be labeled as such in the tags and put under a cut.

7) Content that is Not Safe For Work/18+ is allowed, but all posts that contain it must be age restricted and tagged to indicate it. This is not because I have anything against NSFW content (far from it), but for legal protection and to allow people to interact with such material on their own terms.

8) These rules all apply as much to moderators as they do to other members of the community. Anyone who has questions about or problems with any of the rules is welcome to bring it up with a moderator (preferably via PM) and will be assumed to be acting in good faith.


Breaking any rule besides the first will result in the following:
* First-time offense will get you a warning
* A second offense will result in a week-long ban
* A third offense will result in a two month ban
* A fourth offense will result in you being permanently banned from the community

Breaking the first rule will result in an instant perma-ban. Offenders will get one chance to prove good faith before the ban hammer comes down. This chance will include mods checking their journal and any locate-able associated social media accounts for more evidence of recent bigotry.

* General fun, supportive, and pride related stuff
* Discussions of news, links, and roundups/links to discussions happening elsewhere
