Hello again for Thursday Recs!
I've got something a little different for everyone this week.
end-otw-racism has a manifesto/call-to-action that I'd like you to know about. The short version is, despite promising in 2020 to do better and be more transparent about racism, fans of color have seen pretty much no progress from the Organization for Transformative Works, which runs AO3, one of if not the most popular fandom archives in the world. The people running the account linked above have organized a protest to try and get what seems like some very reasonable accommodations made, to make AO3 (and hopefully fandom in general) a safer space for people of color. If you're into fandom stuff, I recommend checking it out and trying to find something on the list you might consider doing, especially if you're white. This protest runs through at least the end of May.
Do you have a rec for this week? Just reply to this post with something queer or queer-adjacent (such as, soap made by a queer person that isn't necessarily queer themed) that you'd, well, recommend. Self-recs are welcome, as are recs for fandom-related content!
Or have you tried something that's been recced here? Do you have your own report to share about it? I'd love to hear about it!
