Hello, everyone, and welcome to the newly opened
queerly_beloved! I am your mod,
soc_puppet, and I hope you all have a wonderful time here.
This community is dedicated to supporting and celebrating all the queer folks who are excluded by jerks on Tumblr for purely BS reasons, as well as queer folks with intersectional identities (such as POC, disabled, poor, homeless, fat, religious, and lots of other identities that I'm sure I'm missing because I still have a lot to learn and probably always will). To find out more of what this community is all about, I encourage folks to check out the community profile, where you can also find the list of posting guidelines and community rules.
To christen this new community, I would like to formally share the large version of the image I made for our default icon, both of which are available to all community members to download and use as you like. You can find the large image under this cut:

(Click for an even bigger version!)
As you can see (or have hopefully otherwise picked up from the coded image description (and please let me know if there's a problem there so I can try to fix it!)), I've taken the designs of the original Gilbert Baker flag and the Philly pride flag, merged them, rearranged the stripes, and flipped them sideways. The stripes terminate in the Queer pride chevron. I've rearranged the colors of the stripes slightly for what I feel is a more harmonious look, with Black and Brown on the leftmost edge (and therefore first in English language "reading order"). Coincidentally, by moving Hot Pink and Red to the end (after Violet), I've put Black and Brown right next to Orange, the color Gilbert Baker chose to represent Healing. Hopefully I'll be able to live up to the promise I've made here.
(Note: Tags are coming, I just need to figure out how nested tags work, because I am over-eager and wanted to get this comm started already.)
