queerly_belovedI just got this AO3 comment and I'm over here melting with glee because they got it.
Like, except the character I flagged up as a trans girl to give context to one of the lines this commenter notes (canonically we only know she's a girl), this fic doesn't reference anybody's identity in the sense of, for instance, "trans girl". But deadnaming and self-naming, and building a new self from the ashes of the old, and who one is when freed of who people are telling one to be? Queer themes like those? That's exactly what this story is about.
